Physical Awareness Session September 2021

Using our high school as a platform, we aimed to engage students and faculty in understanding the prevalent rise of poverty across Pakistan. Initially, we observed a significant lack of awareness among students about the realities of poverty in our country. Our goal was to change their perspective by providing them with a clearer picture of what poverty truly looks like in Pakistan. We shared accounts from our conversations with homeless individuals to bring their experiences to light and foster a deeper understanding and empathy within our school community.

Unexpected Insights

Additionally, we gained unexpected insights into poverty from some of the faculty members we interviewed. Their personal experiences and perspectives broadened our view, revealing the complexities and nuances of poverty that we had not previously considered. This deeper understanding enriched our project and helped us to present a more comprehensive picture of poverty in Pakistan to our peers.
